Quartz is very heat resistant but depends on "how hot" the object is. A hot plate from a microwave is typically not a threat, but a 450° pot from the oven can cause damage. It is recommended to use trivets or hot pads under hot pots and pans to prevent thermal shock or discoloration. Direct exposure to high temperatures should be avoided to maintain its beauty and integrity.
Can I cut on quartz?
Quartz is durable and can take the abuse of a knife cutting on the surface. However, cutting directly on its surface is not recommended. Using a cutting board will help protect the surface from scratches and maintain its polished finish.
